Stage 2 – Award Increase from 1st November 2020 – Construction, manufacturing, clerks and more

On Friday 19th June, The Fair Work Commission (FWC) handed down its decision regarding an increase to the National Minimum Wage (NMW).

In its decision the FWC determined it was appropriate to increase the minimum wage by 1.75%. The varied modern award minimum wages would be implemented in three operative dates.

Stage two of the modern award wage increase was effective 1st November 2020. This is a reminder for employers listed in construction, manufacturing, clerks and many other industries that you may be required to make changes to staff wages. Changes will be applied from the first full pay period on or after 1st November 2020.

To see if this applies to you, please review the list of modern award groupings under Group 2.

For a full list of the three operative dates and awards, please see relevant subgroups.
